About

30 harvests in 7 countries

Cura Vino is the brainchild of winemaker Gavin Monery and committed hedonist Tom Evans, conceived to make wines that are complex, elegant and most of all, delicious. Cura, Italian for cure, is a nod to the heritage of the old vines in the Swan Valley where the grapes are sourced.

Our winemaker, Gavin Monery, brings over 30 harvests of international winemaking experience to every bottle.

He’s worked with some of the world’s top wineries across seven countries, from the cooler areas of Burgundy and Barbaresco to more sun-drenched regions like the Roussillon and Calatayud.

Gavin’s journey began in Margaret River, where a love for surfing led to a cellar hand job—and a lifelong passion for wine. He trained at iconic producers like Cullen and Moss Wood before spending 15 years in Europe, deepening his expertise and learning from legends like Jean-Louis Chave in Hermitage.

Along the way, Gavin earned a BSc in Viticulture and Oenology and launched two award-winning urban wineries in London, producing the UK’s best still wine (Decanter World Wine Awards 2022) and winning the International Wine Challenge (IWC) Innovator of the Year.
